Bantwal: Swami Mohandas of Manila hopes Kambala, buffalo’s race promote communal harmony

Bantwal, 19 Apr 2022: At the leadership of Karnataka former minister Ramanath Rai and Congress leader Pius L Rodrigues, 11th annual renowned Mudoor Padoor Kambala, heroic buffalo’s race was held here on Sunday April 17. It would draw curtains for the Kambala season of 2022 in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.

 

Swami Mohandas Paramahamsa of Sri Kshetra Manila blessed the event.

 

 

Fr Fredrick Monteiro, parish priest of St Antony’s parish, Allipade, retired Tahsildar Mohan Rao, Navoor gram panchayat president Umesh Kulal, Bantwal municipal councilor Mohammed Sharif, Mangaluru south former MLA J T Lobo, journalist Walter Nandalike, Bantwal taluk working journalists Association president Prashant Punjalkatte, Navoor gram panchayat vice president Laveena Wilma Moras were the chief guests present.

 

Kambala Committee convener Padmashekar Jain, working president Chandraprakash Shetty, Sudip Kumar Shetty, Mayilappa Salian, Baby Kunder, Avil Menezes, Sudarshan Jain, Abbas Ali, Denzel Noronha, Shabbir, Philip Frank Agrar and others were present.

 

Kambala committee president Pius L Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Balakrishna Alva Kodaje and Rajeev Kakyapadav compered the programme.
