Bunts Sports Meet sets platform for athletes aspiring for Olympics

Mumbai, 05 Apr 2022: The Bunts Sports Meet is gloriously underway after just over two years of Corona pandemic. Khelo India, headed by Prime Minister Modi and conceptualized today, is global. Therefore, the participation of students and children in the sport should be great. This sport of ours must be an inspiration not just to our country but to the Olympics. Bunts Sports is the number one sporting event in Mumbai and it is an honor and a pleasure to watch the disciplined march past. I have now raised my voice in Parliament, to set up Sports University, said Gopal C Shetty, MP for North Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency, here.

 

He congratulated all the participants who said that if the Sports University was established here, all their participation would be necessary.

 

With a focus on unity and integrity through sports, Bunts Sangha Mumbai, its sports Committee, held its Bunts Annual sports Meet at Poisor Gymkhana Stadium, Kandivali (West), here on Sunday April 3. 

 

 

The main sponsor of the Bunts Sangh Mumbai’s Vasai Dahunu regional committee was the key sponsor of Bunts Annual Sports Meet.

 

Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty presided the stage programme before the sports meet.

 

Aikala Harish Shetty, president of World Bunts Federation flagged-off the march past.

 

Sandalwood actor, director and producer Kich Sudeep, was especially flown from Bengaluru to the sporting event by the sponsor Balloon Chuk.

 

Ayush Sachidananda Shetty brought sports torch to the stadium.

 

Prathamesh Shetty administered oath to the athletes.

 

Sadashiv K Shetty Kanyana, chairman of Heranba Industries, Tulukoota Baroda president Shashidhar B Shetty (Guruvayanakere) and bollywood actor Tapsee Pannu, producer Jack Manju, bollywood actor Abhimanyu Singh, Borivili Education Committee president Dr Padmanabha V Shetty, education and social welfare Committee president Shantaram Bm Shetty, Powai education Committee president B R Shetty, higher education Committee president CA Im R Shetty, former president Karnire Vishwanath Shetty and other dignitaries were present at the dais.

 

Bunts Sports means it is a spectacular event, which is very different from what is currently and unique under the leadership of Girish Shetty Tellar,’ said Aikala Harish Shetty. 

 

‘The sporting event of the society is strengthening the bond of kinship in all and spirits of the contestants. The sport should be credited with a youth Olympic medal attempt. I would personally make him a crorepati. India is so strong in sports that it needs to be made bumpier. I Hope this will be the same sport, said Sadashiva Shetty.

 

Shashidhar B Shetty said after 2 years of pandemic, people are again confident that the sport is full of weed. He reminded the visionaries of the sport and its purpose and reminded the sports enthusiasts.

 

‘I participated in the first massive Shetty Society event. Fostering mutual intimate relationships,’ said Abhimanyu Singh. 

 

Sudeep says that sports unite society. When our intentions are good, the family, the community, and the organization will do well. The fact that I arrived here today, it gave me a chance to see you all personally. Since I am half Mangalore, my Wife is from Udupi. In the next few years I will speak with you in Tulu language.

 

‘This was the first time I had attended a sporting event after leaving School.  I like sports very much. Sports are fun for the mind and body and I always love the sport. My best wishes to all the contestants who participated in the sport,’ said Actor Tapsee.

 

In the Two year Corona situation, our sporting event was impossible and this time it was inevitable to do so during the hottest months. Yet the purpose of the sporting event is to strengthen the unity of the Bunt as a whole. In his presidential address, Chandrahase Shetty said sports media is a good way to bring together all of them.

 

 

Bunts Sangha Mumbai Vice President of Ulthur Mohandas Shetty, Hon.Gen.Secretary Dr.R.K Shetty, Hon. Treasurer CA.Harish D. Shetty, Jt.Secretary, Divakar Shetty Indrali, Jt.Treasurer Mundappa S. Payyade, Women’s Chairperson Uma Krishna Shetty, Youth Wing Chairman Sagar Diwakar Shetty. Sports Committee Chairman Girish R. Shetty Tellar, Vasai Dahanu Regional Committee Chairperson Harish P. Shetty, Adarsh Shetty Hallady, Bunts Sangha Manager Praveen Shetty Waranga were present. Vidwan Aravind Banninthaya, the Archaka of the Sangha’s Temple Jyana Mandira, prayed to Shree Maha Vishnu, Shree Maha Ganapati and honored with Aarti to Kateelu Shree Durga Parameshwari that the sport festival should be held unhindered.

 

A large number of bunters and non-beneficiaries were present at the event, including sponsors of various services, co-promoters, heads of various bunts, chairman of the Bunts nine regional committees, coordinators, subcommittees, women’s and youth wing executives.

 

Leelavati Alva said prayers. Girish R Shetty Tullar welcomed the gathering. Prasanna Sant introduced the guests. Ashok Pakkala, Karnoor Mohan Rai and Harish Vasu Shetty hosted the event. Bunts Sangha honorary general secretary Dr R K Shetty proposed vote of thanks.

 

S.M Shetty Education Institute Powai, Higher Education Institute, Bunts Sangha Women’s Wing, Bombay Bunts Association, JAVAB, Mulund Bunts, Thane Bunts Association, Navi Mumbai, Bhiwandi Badlapur, City Region, Andheri Bandra, Dombivali, Jogeshwari Dahisar, Mira-Bhayandar, Kurla-Bhandup, Vasai-Dahanu Regional Committees and others participated in the colourful sports March Fast and attended the event. There were various sports competitions followed by a special ’Tug of War’ competition for men and women, a throwball for women and a volleyball tournament for men. Vijaya Shetty, Bharat Shetty (Athletic), Roshan Shetty (Throwball), Ramachandra Patkar and Ravindra Shetty (Volleyball) Jaya A Shetty, Sagar D Shetty (Tug of war), Yermal Harish Shetty, Gunapal R Shetty Aikala, Mahesh S. Shetty, Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur, Vijaya Shetty (Jury of Appeal) assisted.
