Blood acts as Sanjivini in saving lives – Dr Melvyn D’Souza

Mangaluru, 15 Jan 2022: ‘Blood donation saves life without indifference,’ said Dr Melvyn D’Souza, vice governor of Lions Club Mangaluru.
Dr Melvyn was speaking during a blood camp organized jointly by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) blood bank, DK district, Lions Club Mangaluru and Government First Grade College, Car Street, at the College, here on Friday, January 14.
In his presidential address, the College principal Prof Rajashekar Hebbar urged the students to make use of opportunities to lead better lives.
IRCS DK blood bank medical officer Dr J N Bhat, blood bank coordinator Praveen Kumar, blood camp convener N J Nagesh Kumar, Harish Malli, Namita D Rao, Ashok Pinto, Lancy Carlo, Pranesh Kumar, Vasant Rao, the College youth Red Cross coordinator Dr Mahesh K B, Prof Nayana Kumari and Prof Raghupati were present.
One-hundred-thirty-five students voluntarily donated their blood.
Vaishnavi welcomed the gathering. Ritesh proposed vote of thanks. The student Sakshi compered the programme.
