Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College students get Self-defense training from top police coach

Mangaluru, 03 Dec 2021: St Agnes PU College, here in collaboration with Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) inaugurated a self-defense training programme for students at the College auditorium, here on Thursday, December 2 at 3.00pm.

 

The students gave a demonstration on basic self-defense techniques taught by trainer Arun Kumar who has been serving in the police department for the past 41 years.

 

They also demonstrated techniques on how to protect and defend themselves in times of danger.

 

 

Arun Kumar, the self-defense trainer was felicitated for his relentless service of 41 years of service.

 

The chief guest DySp Hem Kumar complimented the students and their trainer for their wonderful presentation of the self-defense techniques. He stressed on the fact that each one should have a good knowledge about self-defense which helps to build up self-confidence and overall personality of an individual.

 

The principal Sr Noreen emphasized about how the college has upheld women empowerment for the past hundred years and is still continuing in the post centenary year. She congratulated and appreciated the students for making the most of the opportunity given to them and also appreciated the zeal of the trainer who taught and trained the students with enthusiasm.

 

In her feedback, Saakshi spoke about how the sessions and the practice enabled the group to protect themselves in every trying situation.

 

Reserve Inspector- Mohammed Harees, Reserve Police - Arun Kumar, Sr Noreen D’Souza and convener of ‘Abhaya’ Dr Tressie Menezes were present at the dais.
