Kundapura, 10 July 2011: State Lokayukta N. Santhosh Hegde was in Kundapura for a group discussion with the students of Bhandarkar’s College. After that he spoke to the press reporters. He said that Lokayukta has submitted the charge sheet to the court against Former Minister Katta Subrhamanya Naydu, his son and other officers.
He said, Katta and his son created illegal documents, bribed and obtained power of attorney by just paying 1 – 2 lakhs rupees and then sold it to KIADB for 40 45 lakhs rupees. Also 325 acre land has been allotted to a company called Hitaska which belongs to Katta’s son, and the amount has been transferred to a company called Indu Builder which is in the name of Katta’s wife, later a huge amount has been received by Katta and his son, these are the 2 main accusations reported in the charge sheet. The officers who cooperated in this act has also been listed, said Hegde.
There was no delay in the preparation of the charge sheet, the charge sheet was prepared long back, but a stay order was issued against it. Now the allegation list has been submitted and Katta has also appealed on it. The court will take a decision on this on Monday, he said.
Earlier during the discussion with the students answering to the question of a student he said that, we did not ask for the power to punish the corrupt people, we had only asked for more power to catch the corrupt. It is impossible to completely stop the corruption, it can only be controlled, and I have succeeded in reducing the corruption in the state, said Hegde.
Answering to another question he said that the corrupt politicians go to temple and try to corrupt God, but the God has not agreed to it so far. Now the news is coming that there is wealth in the temples, so now there are more possibilities that these corrupt politicians will go to the vaults in the temple instead of God, he joked.
Raiding on the camp of Ramdev and his supports in the night while they were conducting fasting movement by the central government is surely violation of human rights. The cane beating is published in TVs. Now the central government is saying lies that they did not use canes? to this question he expressed his discontent.
In the program the College Principal Prof. Chandrashekara Dhooma, Administrative Officer Dr. H. Shantharam, Old Students Association President K. C. Rajesh and others were present.
