Bantwal: Truck driver assaults ASI & 3 policemen with iron rod at Melkar

Bantwal, 10 Jul 2020: A truck driver assaulted an assistant sub inspector (ASI) and 3 police personnel of Bantwal town at Melkar, here on Thursday July 9 midnight.

 

The truck driver twenty-eight-year-old Abdul Salam, a resident of Goltamajal, near here assaulted ASI Shailesh and other 3 policemen with an iron rod when they arrived at Melkar after a tip off by a person at the spot.

 

 

Meanwhile, the general public who gathered at the spot thrashed the accused Salam who was injured by the tussle. Later, he was admitted at a private hospital in Mangaluru town.

 

ASI Shailesh and 3 policemen are admitted at state-run hospital in Bantwal town.

 

Bantwal town police registered cases under IPC and KPDL P Act on Salam.
