Mangaluru: Thieves steal offertory box from Paneer church

Mangaluru, 03 Apr 2020: Thieves entered the Paneer church at Deralakatte on the outskirts of the city on the night of Thursday and stole more than 10 offertory boxes and looted the money in those boxes.

 

Nine doors of the church were broken by the thieves before gaining entry into the church of Our Lady of Mercy. They also broke open the tabernacle in which the Holy Communion was kept.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is suspected that the thieves entered the MSIL wine shop at Nityananda Nagara under Konaje police station limits before breaking into the church.

 

A team of police personnel led by Ullal station officer Anil Kumar have visited the spot and investigating further.

 

A case in this regard is registered at Ullal police station.
