Everyone has a role in creating gender equality - Sukanya

Mangaluru, 11 Mar: At the joint auspices of Dakshina Kannada district Agriculture Science Centre and women and child welfare department, training workshop on nursery was held for Anganawady workers as part of World Women’s Day, here on March 8.
The progressing farmer from Beltangady – Sukanya inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukanya said, ‘Everyone has a role in creating gender equality in the world and World Women’s Day is to reminisce the women achievers who waged struggle for equality in society.’
Agriculture Science Centre senior scientist and head, Dr T J Ramesh said, ‘Women plays multiple roles in family and all spheres of life who deserves respect and understanding.’
The women and child development staff Sharada K said, ‘Women plays key role in shaping the society.’
Agriculture Science Centre – plantation scientist Dr Rashmi R was the resource person, explained how a backyard garden can provide nutritious food for everyday consumption, as the prices of vegetables are soaring in the market. Gardening is also a hobby that is soothing mind.
The fisheries scientist Dr N Chetan welcomed the gathering. Dr Kedarnat proposed vote of thanks.
Forty-two Anganawady workers, Asha – health workers and women members of Stree self-help-groups were present.
Dr Mallikarjana and staff of Agriculture Science Centre were also present.
