Bantwal: Notorious criminal identified in Zia gang of Kerala found murdered in Shanti Nagar

Bantwal, 07 Feb: A man with criminal background was found murdered in a stationary car at Shanti Nagar, near Nagri, at the limits of Sajpa Munnoor gram panchayat, near here on February 2.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Tasleem, a native of Kerala indentified in notorious Zia gang of Kerala. The initial investigations by the police revealed past history of his criminal activities.
The locals suspicious of the stationary car informed the police about its location. The police arrived at the spot and found Tasleem was tied to the seat and stab wound on his belly. The police suspect Tasleem was murdered elsewhere but left in the parked car in a hilly area at Shanti Nagar, near here.
Tasleem was released on bail
Police sources informed that Tasleem who was involved in several criminal activities in many places including in DK district was released o bail a few days ago. He was imprisoned in Gulbarga jail in robbery case of Arun Jewellery Shop located in Mangaluru Bunder area during 2019. The rival group seemed to have kidnapped Tasleem when he walked out of Gulbarga prison on anticipatory bail a few days ago. He was the prime accused in Kalia Rafiq murder case in Ullal, Mangaluru in 2017. It might have been the revenge killing or there might be other reasons for eliminating him.
The police suspect hired men are behind this act.
Udupi SP Vishnuvardan, ASP Vikram Amte, Mangaluru DCIB sub-inspector Cheluvaraju along with Bantwal CI T D Nagaraj, Bantwal town sub-inspector Avinash, ASI Jayaram Rai, Ramesh, Shivaram and others visited the crime spot.
The fingerprint experts gathered clues and are working on decoding.
The dead body was sent to autopsy at District Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru.
