Mangaluru: District women Congress urge judiciary to award death sentence to rape accused

Mangaluru, 04 Dec: Dakshina Kannada district women Congress unit presented a memorandum to DC Sindhu P Roopesh, here on Wednesday, December 4, urging the judiciary to award death sentence to rape accused in the recent case of veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy, by referring to fast track court.

 

 

They also urged the penal sentence to all rape accused in the country.

 

DK district women Congress unit president Shalet Pinto, Karnataka state women Congress president Hilda Alva, Surekha Chandrahas, Shobha Keshav, Sasikala Padmanabha, Anjum, DK block women Congress president Namita D Rao, Geeta Suvarna, Vidhya, Sarala Karkera, Kavita Vasu, Mable D’Souza, Chandrakala, Mangaluru block women Congress president Shantala Gatti, Sabita Misquith, Netravati, Chandrakala D Rao, Meghanadas, Manjula Nayak, Ashalata, Saraswati Salian, youth Congress general secretary Samart Bhat, Yashwant Prabhu, Varun Nayak, Mansoor, Pradeep, Ahmed Meghdad and others were present.

 

The students of St Agnes College also held a rally beginning from in front of the College at 4.00pm, demanding death sentence to rape accused.
