Udupi: Thirty First Show of Konkani Film ‘Passport’ Presented in Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 17 Nov: The thirty first show of Konkani family film “Passport”- A Story of Life’s Journey was presented in St. Lawrence Community Hall, Moodubelle on Sunday, 17 November 2019 at 5.30 pm. This one and half hour long film was the presentation of Christajyothi Cine Creations. The story, screenplay, dialogue and production are by Fr. Royson Fernandes, presently Editor of ‘Uzwaad’, the Udupi Diocesan Fortnightly; Direction by Vinod Gangolli, Lyrics by Wilfred R. Pangal and Music and singing by Prajot D’Sa. The main actor in the film is Vincent Martis supported by a number of local artists from Shankerpura including the priests.
The show opened with Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle in his introductory remarks appreciating the efforts of Fr. Royson Fernandes in conceptualizing and producing the film based on family values. Fr. Jithesh Castelino, Assistant Parish Priest honoured Fr. Royson with shawl and bouquet.
Fr. Royson Fernandes briefly explained the concept of the film and said that the world is too large for anyone to understand, but the family is the immediate world to which everyone relates. The film revolves around an aged widower sacrificing his life for the betterment of his son and his family living in Dubai. Hoping to visit his son on his invitation and the travails of securing the Passport and the unforeseen developments.
All the actors in the film have done justice to the story. Vincent Martis in the lead role has been natural and manifests his acting talents. Other supporting cast has also performed well in this film.
Besides Fr. Clement and Fr. Jithesh, the film was viewed by Fr. Charles Furtado(OFM Cap) from Assisi Nilaya and Fr. Ivan Martis, the newly ordained priest.
Among the actors, besides Vincent Martis, Walston D’Sa, Srayan Lobo and Wilfred R. Pangla were present for the show.
The audience appreciated “Passport” for its story, direction, message, acting and music.
