Saalumara Thimmakka motivates planting saplings backed by MRPL

Puttur, 06 Nov: Environmentalist Saalumara Thimmakka joined hands with Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava 2019.

 

With managing director Venkatesh M and director (Refinery) M Vinay Kumar, the MRPL family gathered in large numbers to plant saplings and celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Karnataka.

 

 

More than 500 members of MRPL took out a Kannada cultural procession amid the green environs of the MRPL colony.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Thimmakka expressed her joy to see the enthusiasm of the people about greenery and was happy to see huge trees grown on the MRPL campus. She advised people to keep growing trees of all forms in their lifetime and contribute to Nature.

 

Venkatesh M said legends like Thimmakka represent an alternate knowledge that needs to be acquired by all of us. He opined that, although she had not gone to school or college, she has learnt the meaning of life by being one with Nature and finding the meaning of life through her.
