Karnataka Yuvajanotsava-2019, 4-Day Youth Convention to begin from Oct 24

• 1,500 youth leaders of Karnataka to commit themselves, ‘Care for the earth for a better World’
Bellary, 23 Oct: Over 1,500 youth leaders from all over Karnataka will hold a 4-Day Convention – Yuvajanotsava on the theme – ‘Youth Caring for Earth for a Better World,’ here, from Thursday, October 24 to Sunday, October 27.
Aimed at empowering the youth for leadership roles, Yuvajanotsava is jointly organized by the Youth Commission of the Karnataka Catholic Bishops’ Council (KRCBC) and Bellary Diocese. The event will be held at Adhyatma Hall in Bellary Arogya Mathe Shrine Church premises.
During the convention the youth will deliberate on various topics such as caring for the mother earth, promotion of innovative farming, strengthening the constitutional democracy, interreligious harmony, among other topics.
The solemn inaugural programme will be held on Thursday at 5.00pm which will be inaugurated by Swami Nijagunaprabhu Thontadarya of Thontadarya Mutt, Mundargi and Nishkala Mantap, Bailur.
Bishop of Bellary Dr Henry D’Souza will preside the function.
Bellary Rural MLA Nagendra, MLC K C Kondiah and MLC Allum Veerbhadrappa will be the chief guests.
Eminent personalities – retired Judge of Supreme Court and former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde, progressive and national innovative farmer Kavitha Mishra and Suryanarayana Reddy will address the youth on the theme of the convention.
The youth leaders would be launching a number of service programmes at 3.00pm on October 26.
Karnataka health minister Sriramulu will launch the Swachch Bharat cleaning programme at VIMS, Bellary.
City MLA G Somshekar Reddy will inaugurate Green Karnataka sapling planting programme.
In addition the youth will take up other programmes such as Beautiful Ballari Wall Painting programme and Caring Ballary Blood Donation Camp in the city.
The youth will hold a Rally for Peace and Progress on Sunday, October 27. The Archbishop of Bengaluru Dr Peter Machado and other Bishops of Karnataka will lead the rally. Rajya Sabha member Dr Nasser Hussein will flag off the rally.
The valedictory programme on Sunday, October 27 will be attended by the Archbishop of Bengaluru, the Bishops of Karnataka, former minister and reigning MLA K J George, MLC Ivan D’Souza and former MLA J R Lobo.
