Mangaluru: Newly-built Primary Health Centre at Bajpe offered unto society

Mangaluru, 21 Oct: It’s the responsibility of state government to maintain health of its people, said Kota Srinivas Poojary, Karnataka minister for religious endowment, fisheries, ports and ferry services.
Srinivas was speaking after inaugurating newly-built Primary Health Center (PHC), at Bajpe, near here on Saturday, October 19 morning.
He also offered assurances on fulfilling any basic issues, such as shortage of staff, lab assistants or upgrades at the newly-built PHC. Meanwhile, he urged the doctors and staff to offer excellent healthcare services with humane touch to the patients who come for treatments.
The former health minister and MLA U T Khader said, ‘State government offers healthcare services to 420 diseases. The PHCs should strive in offering state facilities to needy patients,’ said Khader. Furthermore, he urged the district administration to erect a memorial for Shiva yane Somashekar Shetty, who had donated 2.20 acres of land for building a modest PHC at Bajpe in 1953.

In his presidential address, Moodbidri MLA Umanat Kotian appealed the people living in the limits of Bajpe gram panchayat to avail the healthcare services at Bajpe PHC that was built at a cost of Rs 1.45 crore.
DK ZP vice president Kasturi Panja, Mangaluru TP president Mohammed Monu, agriculture and industries steering committee chairman Janardhan Gowda, district health officer (DHO) Dr Ramakrishna Rao, Bajpe gram panchayat president and members were present.
