Mangaluru: Kar government mulls to appoint differently-abled persons as guides in tourist spots

Mangaluru, 01 Oct: Karnataka tourism minister C T Ravi inaugurated 3-day International Special Children’s Camp at Sangha Niketan, here on Monday, September 30. It was organized at the leadership of Mangaluru south MLA Vedavyas Kamat, in collaboration with Anam Prem NGO and Mumbai-based Helen Keller Institute for Deaf and Blind.

 

In his inaugural address, Ravi said, ‘The leaders of many differently-abled NGOs demanded to employ specially-abled persons as guides at different tourism spots, as the general staff are not able to explain their specific queries.’ Meanwhile, he assured to review their demand in fulfilling them.

 

 

In his preliminary address, MLA Vedavyas Kamat explained the objectives of 3-day camp. The camp participants will be taken on city tour on second day and boat rides. The cultural events and prize distribution will be held on third day.

 

Five-hundred-forty special children from Uttar Pradesh, Surat, Bhavanagar, Kanpur and Sri Lanka are participating in this camp. They will showcase their talent and interact with the audiences.

 

CREDAI  president Naveen Cardoza, Vasudev Kamat, Ronald Gomes, Prashant Pai, Mukund Kamat of Ideal Ice Cream, Ravishanker Mijar, Harish Acharya, Sharat R Pai, Mohan Bengre, Kishore Rai, Jagdish Shenava, Sudhir, Yogish Desai, Anam Prem, Prashant Bhat, Srinivas Shet were present. 

 

The convener Sanjay Prabhu proposed vote of thanks.
