Udupi/M’Belle: First Zone Social of Lions Clubs of Zone I Region II held in Lions Seva Bhavan

Udupi, M’Belle, 22 Sep: The first Zone Social of Lions Clubs included in Zone I, Region II of Lions District 317C was held in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle on Saturday, 21 September 2019 at 7.30 pm.

 

The First Zone Social was presided over by Ln. Denis Martis, President of the host Lions Club of Moodubelle. Ln. Ramesh Shetty from Lions Club of Palli-Ninjoor who is the Zone Chairman was the chief guest. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Ln. Jaya Shetty, President of Lions Club of Palli-Ninjoor, Ln. Devaputran Kotian, President of Lions Club of Subhashnagar, Ln. Elias Lobo, Zone Secretary and Ln. Elias D’Souza, Secretary of Lions Club of Moodubelle.

 

Secretaries of Lions Clubs of Subhashnagar, Palli-Ninjoor and Moodubelle presented the reports of various activities conducted by their respective Lions Clubs from the date of installation.

 

In his keynote address as the chief guest, Ln. Ramesh Shetty stressed on the importance of undertaking various service activities in the interest of the marginalized and disadvantaged villagers. He also made an appeal to the Lions Clubs included in the zone to increase their membership based on the quality commitment to social service.

 

Ln. Gerald Fernandes, Region Chairman of Region II and Ln. V.T. Hegde of Kaup Lions Club and former Cabinet Treasurer presented felicitation. 

 

Leo Joyce Fernandes sang prayer song, Ln. Anil D’Mello read the flag salutation, Ln. Denis Martis welcomed the guests, Ln. Elias Lobo introduced the chief guest, Ln. Elias D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Ln. Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme.

 

Earlier, Region and Zone Advisory Committee meetings were held in the office of the Lions Club of Moodubelle. Ln. Ganesh Pai was the resource person for the Region Advisory Committee meeting. The Zone Advisory Committee meeting was conducted by Ln. Ramesh Shetty, the Zone Chairman.
