Mangaluru: Ayush Nutri Food Week launched in city

Mangaluru, 07 Sep: Dakshina Kannada Ayush department in collaboration with women and child welfare department, Ayush Foundation and United Sports Club, Boloor, here launched Ayush Nutritious Food Week at Anganawady in Sultan Battery, Boloor, here on September 4.
DK district Ayush officer Dr Mohammed Iqbal inaugurated the programme.
In his inaugural address, Dr Iqbal said that DK district Ayush department has been organizing several social welfare programmes. Ayush Multi Specialty Clinic that is set up at district Wenlock Hospital will be offered unto society shortly.
The union Ayush minister has launched 2 significant projects that is ‘Samruddi’ for general people and ‘Srusti’ for childless couples which can be availed at Wenlock Ayush Multi Specialty Clinic, said Dr Iqbal.
In his preliminary address, Ayush Foundation vice president ayurveda Dr Devdas said that the Foundation is striving to provide healthcare services based on ayurveda to the people. The unhealthy lifestyles, irregular food habits, lack of exercises are causing nutrient deficiency in people. The ayurvedic treatments are effective in treating such cases, said Dr Devdas.
Wenlock Ayush Clinic medical officer Dr Shobharani was the resource person.
The women and child welfare staff Poornima welcomed the gathering. Anganawadi teacher Kumudakshi proposed vote of thanks.
The district child development officer Shobha, SDM Yoga and Naturopathy College junior Dr Soujanya, parents of children and others were present.
