03 June 2011: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan today said that Baba Ramdev’s proposed hunger strike against corruption and repatriation of black money stashed in foreign banks, is politically motivated and he would not support the agitation.
"Koi support nahin karunga...unka agenda hai...jaise hi koi neta ho jata hai...voh yeh sab karne lagata hai (I will not support him...he’s got an agenda...as soon one becomes a leader...he resorts to such kind of agitation)," Shahrukh told reporters at the release of a theatrical trailer of his upcoming flick Ra.One.
"Jo jiska kam ho, usko voh karna chahiye..agar koi neta ban kar karna chahta hai to that is not the right way to raise an issue (One should do what is appropriate for him or her. If anyone is trying to slip into shoes of a politician then that is not the right way to do it.)," he said appealing to youths not to fall prey to corruption.
In the background of the 2G scam and related issues, the actor said current instances of corruption in public life have saddened him.
When asked whether he wanted to become a politician, Khan denied it, saying: "Why do you think I am joining politics, why don’t you imagine a neta joining film industry?
"I am a selfish person who wants to be admired by his fans and well-wishers in bollywood and in public at large," he said adding he does not understand politics.
The superstar said that honest human beings are the sources of his inspiration, adding that mythological characters like Krishna, Drona and even Ravan stood in a different stead because of their control of mind and willpower.
When asked whether he would pair up with Salman Khan in any movie, the actor said, "You should ask me whether I will be seen with female actresses like Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor etc... why do you want to fix me with a male actor?"
As part of the promotional strategy for his upcoming film Ra.One, Khan launched a 3600-foot-long fan mail which will travel through 50 BIG Cinemas properties across India thus allowing audiences to share their messages for the actor.
Big Cinemas is set to enter in the Limca book of records for the longest fan mail, said Big Cinema’s Head (Brand and Marketing) Archana Jhangiani.

I agree with SRK and do not appreciate or join the fast or protest initiated by Baba Ramdev. In my opinion who is not giving or receiving bribe has got the right to raise voice against. The Fast is illconceived and backed by vested interest and politically motivated. The black money in foreign countries is to be fought through S.C. and all those corrupt must be prosecuted and tried under the Law. The movement and demands of Baba are discussed and almost agreed by the Government (99%) and that being the case to sit on fasting is uncalled for. IT IS COLOURED MOVE. I did support Anna against corruption and it is a reasonable move and Government and civic society is at it. Nothing could be done before the Sun rise the next Day. I do not think Baba is clean. There is no point is joining his action. Dr. Bedi and kejrivala have understood and are in action on the matter of fighting Corruption. | |
