Mangaluru, 24 Aug: In yet another victim of suspected Dengue fever in Dakshina Kannada, a college student dies on Friday, August 23. The victim Madhushree aged 19, is a second year BSc student in a city college.

She is hailing from Salethur, in Bantwal Taluk. She had treatment for Dengue fever a few days back and was taking rest at home. However she was again admitted in a private hospital following complaint of chest pain on Thursday, August 22. Though she was rushed to the hospital immediately, the treatments given to her, failed to improve her condition.

Health department officials however have claimed that dengue was not the reason for the student’s demise. District health surveillance officer, Dr Navinchandra, said that the said student was discharged, having been healed of dengue fever. He clarified that she died of chest pain and lung infection.
