St. Lawrence Educational Institutions, Moodubelle Victorious in Hiriadka Zone Primary School VB Tour

Udupi/M’Belle, 27 Jul: It is a matter of great pride that St. Lawrence Educational Institutions won three out of four trophies in the Hiriadka Zone Primary School Section Volleyball Tournament that was held in the ground of Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School Grounds on Saturday, 27 July 2019. While St. Lawrence English Medium Priamry School were champions among the boys volleyball teams, Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School were the Runners Up. In the girls volleyball tournament, Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School girls team was victorious and Kudi Aided Higher Primary School were the Runners Up. The trophies were distributed by Fr. Jithesh Castelino, Assistant Parish priest of Moodubelle along with Vishwanath Bayari, Raviraj US, Sr. Irene Viegas, Ivan D’Souza and Ivan D’Almeida.

 

 

Earlier in the morning at 9.30 am the Hiriadka Zone level Primary Schools Volleyball Tournament was inaugurated in the school hall. The inaugural function was presided over by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Instituions, Moodubelle. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Ln. Elias D’Souza, old student of the school and Secretary of Lions Club, Moodubelle, Mrs. Ranjani Hegde-President of Belle Grama Panchayat, Vishwanath Bayari-Physical Education Officer, Udupi, Ivan D’Souza-President of Paretns-Teachers Association, Ln. Raviraj US-Secretary of Lions Club, Uudpi and Sr. Irene Viegas-Headmistress of Belle Chruch Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubell. 

 

Ln. Elias D’Souza inaugurated the volleyball tournament by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

 

In his inaugural address, Ln. Elias D’Souza appealed the teams to play the game to the best ability and make their institutions proud by their discipline and team spirit.

 

Mrs. Ranjani Hegde and Vishwanath Bayari wished all the participating teams in the tournament  well.

 

 

Fr. Clement Mascarenhas in his presidential message said that while each team would try to win the trophy, every team cannot get to the top. It is equally important to participate in the tournament and put in their best efforts.

 

Sr. Irene Viegas welcomed the gathering, Ms. Pramila D’Souza propose dthe vote of thanks and Ms. Asha compeered the programme.

 

Following the inaugural function in the auditorium, dignitaries proceeded to the ground and Ln. Elias D’Souza along with other dignitaries formally inaugurated the Volleyball Tournament by releasing the volleyball tied to the net.
