Beltangady: ICYM youths partake in cleaning Ajilakere at Venur

Beltangady, 03 Jun: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Central Council, Mangaluru diocese in collaboration with ICYM Venur parish unit, ICYM Beltangady deanery and Venur gram panchayat, organized cleanliness drive on Ajilakere, Venur, near here on Sunday, May 29.
The programme commenced with a formal inauguration at 6:30am. Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza, director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese presided the programme.
Fr Basil Vas, director, ICYM Beltangady deanery, Peter Aranha, parish priest and spiritual director of ICYM Christ the King parish, Venur, Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, assistant director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Ganapathi Shastry, Tahsildar, Beltangady taluk, Mohini Shetty, president, Venur gram panchayat, ZP member P Dharmendra Kumar, Venur gram panchayat vice president Arun Crasta, Ronald D’Souza, vice president and Steven D’Cunha, secretary of Venur parish council, Sr Shalini, head teacher, Navachethana School, Venur, Arun D’Souza and Sr Wilma, animators, ICYM Venur parish unit, Delson D’Souza, president and Reshma Fernandes, secretary, ICYM Venur parish unit, Vivian S Fernandes, president and Prashanth Pinto, secretary, ICYM Beltangady deanery, Anup Pais and other local leaders were present.
Ganapathi Shastry inaugurated the programme and addressed the gathering with the words of appreciation to the youths for their young spirit in joining hands for a good cause.
Fr Basil Vas appreciated the youths for initiating a wonderful event and urged to continue the same youth spirit in the future too.
Jaison Leroy Pereira, president, ICYM Mangaluru diocese welcomed the gathering.
Fevisha Monteiro, general secretary, ICYM Mangaluru diocese proposed the vote of thanks. Stany D’Souza compered the programme.
A total of 150 youths took part in the cleanliness drive.
