Palm Sunday observed at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Nirmalpadav

Karkala, 15 Apr: Our lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Nirmalpadav celebrated Palm Sunday with devotion on 14th April 2019. 

 

 

Parish Priest Rev. Fr .Vincent Lobo blessed the Palms near the grotto, presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration. Rev. Fr Vincent Lobo, in his homily stressed the importance of carrying the daily cross and following Jesus. Nearly 200 faithful attended this holy mass. 

 

After the blessings of palm, devotees gathered together in a procession carrying blessed palm and singing Lenten hymns towards Church. 

 

Palm Sunday marks the arrival of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, where his disciples gave him a warm welcome by waving palm leaves, a gesture to signify the victory of good over evil. Palm Sunday also marks the beginning of the Holy Week.
