Udupi: DC imposes liquor ban from April 16

Udupi, 05 Apr: Liquor ban will be enforced 48 hours, from 6 pm on April 16 up to midnight on April 18, by order of Udupi deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati to ensure that the Lok Sabha polling in the constituency is conducted in a peaceful manner.
According to the notification by the DC, all types of liquor stores, liquor sale depots, liquor manufacturing distilleries, star hotels and petty shops that sell liquor throughout the district are expected to follow the ban.
Come April 21, liquor ban will be in effect in Byndoor and Kundapur taluks, since Lok Sabha elections will be conducted here on April 23.
