Mumbai: Konkani Group Malvani celebrates silver jubilee with variety shows

Mumbai, 22 Feb: Konkani Group Malvani, near the western suburb of Malad, here celebrated their silver jubilee at St Anthony School Quadrangle auditorium, Malvani, Malad (West), here on Sunday, February 17.

 

The programme commenced at 7.00pm with welcome address by Louisa Pereira, president, and followed by two-minutes of silence prayer for the martyrs of Pulwama attack that killed 42 jawans of CRPF.

 

Variety events were held such as prayer dance, singing, dance and Konkani skit by the members and their children. All acts were appreciated and enjoyed by the audience.

 

 

The chief guest Gilbert Baptist and Marceline Baptist (proprietor –Malaika Group) guest comedy king Francis Fernandes Cassia, theater director Joy Paladka, Hilary Lobo, (proprietor of Sagar Family Restaurant, Ronnie Pinto, Leo Fernandes, Konkani actor and film producer were honored by Louisa Pereira, president, Sebastian D’Mello, vice president, Charles Saldhana, secretary, Gregory Viegas, treasuer and Felix D’Souza, cultural events in charge.

 

The report of the Konkani Group Malvani was presented by Charles Saldhana, secretary. Felix D’Souza Malvani, thanked all the guests, sponsors, donors and the the gathering.

 

A dose full of laughter was added by the Konkani comedy drama, Keppyachin Kestanvan, by playwright Claude D’Souza Bendore, directed by Joy Paladka, with artistes Julie Vas Marol, Gregory Sequeira Niddodi, Felix D’Souza Malvani and Melvyn D’Souza Kandivali. It indeed enthralled the audiences.

 

The function was compered by George Sequeira, Bhayandar. Six-hundred people were present. Snacks weres served to all.

 

The next programme of Konkani Group Malvani was announcemed. A comedy, emotional Konkani drama, Mhojhe Voili Kals Nivar, by playwright Joseph D’Souza Borivali and directed by Wlliam Machado Borivali, will be staged at St. Anthony Church Ground, Malvani, Malad (West), here on Sunday, April 21.
