Mumbai, 21 Jan: The childhood thoughts shape the future of an individual. Therefore, one should develop positive thinking during childhood that will cave out better future and make them responsible citizens of our country, said Josephine (Jessie) Vaz, advisor of Jamnabai Narsi International School and Mumbai diocesan education Committee.
Jessie was speaking during scholarship distribution programme organized by Model Co-operative Bank at the auditorium of Xavier Institute of Engineering, Mahim (West), here, on Saturday, January 19 evening.
Jessie urged the students to try to achieve impossible by utilizing every opportunity that they come across in life. There are no shortcuts to success, except hard work and perseverance, she added.
The Bank deputy chairman William Sequeira presided the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, William appealed the students to contribute for nation building along with jobs.
The Bank founding chairman John D’Silva, former deputy chairma Vincent Mathias, directors Paul Nazareth, Thomas D Lobo, Lawrence D’Souza, Sanjay Shinde, Benedicta Rebello, Marita D’Mello, Gerald Cardoza, CEO and general manager William L D’Souza were present at the dais.
John D’Souza again appealed the beneficiaries of scholarship to become entrepreneurs’ employees hundreds of employees because Model Bank promotes entrepreneurship among the youth.
Fr Vincent Menezes was the special guest present.
William D’Souza welcomed the gathering and delivered the preliminary address. The Bank manager Edward Rasquinha compered the programme. Lolita Rodrigues read the list of beneficiaries. The senior manager Biata Carvalho delivered the vote of thanks.
The scholarship was distributed to hundreds of students.
