Udupi: Adani-UPCL issues CSR Grant of Rs 92.33 lac to Padubidri GP

Udupi, 08 Oct: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) handed over the CSR Grant Confirmation Letter of Rs 92.33 lac to the Padubidri gram panchayat, here, on Saturday, October 6.

 

Kishore Alva, joint president of Adani UPCL handed over the letter confirming to execute development works worth Rs 92.33 lac in Padubidri gram panchayat for the year 2018-19 based on the Action Plan, which would be submitted by panchayat. The letter was handed over in the premises of Padubidri gram panchayat.

 

 

Later Alva spoke and informed that Adani UPCL has earmarked a special CSR Grant of Rs 22.73 crore totally for 7 gram panchayats for a total period of 3 years and from that package, it is executing development works as contained in the Action Plan of panchayat. Under this Special Grant, Padubidri panchayat has been committed developmental works worth Rs 2.77 crore over a period of 3 years effective financial year 2016-17.

 

Alva informed that against the declared CSR Grant of Rs 2.77 crore to Padubidri gram panchayat, Adani UPCL, based on the Action Plan from the panchayat, has so far taken-up and completed development works worth Rs 40 lac towards concreting of road measuring 450 meters from Padebettu Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple to Kucchigudde Janata Colony and developments to Foot-Over-Bridge. Adding that the panchayat Building construction work at a cost of Rs 70 lac is in progress and the development of Sri Subramanya Swamy Temple Auditorium at a cost of Rs 35 lac is in the stage of contract finalization, Alva informed that against the committed special CSR package of Rs 2.77 crore Adani UPCL has till date taken-up development works worth Rs 1.45 crore and the works worth balance of Rs 1.32 crore would be completed by September, 2019.

 

Accepting the CSR Grant Confirmation letter for the year 2018-19 from Adani, DamayantiAmeen, President and Sukumar, Vice President of Padubidri gram panchayat acknowledged the Social Development works of UPCL and thanked on behalf of panchayat members and residents.  They requested Adani to complete the Action Plan works at the earliest keeping in view the overall development of the villages.

 

Panchakshari Swamy, PDO, Shashikant Padubidri, Zilla Panchayat member, Dinesh Kotian, Taluk Panchayat member, members of panchayat – Jagadish Shetty, Shivamma, Srinivasa Sharma, Latha, Ravi Shetty, Janaki, Raveendranath, Mayyadi, Karunakara, Shashikala, Hassan Bava, Mumtaz, Dinesh, Asha, Shashikala, Vijayalakshmi Acharya, Jaya Salian, Sadhana, Mahendra, Saritha, Nayana, Lakshman, Harinakshi, Harish, Ashok Salian, Sevanti, Sumitra, Naveen Shetty, Sanjeeva Poojarti, BudaanSaheb, Deekshit, UPCL AGM Girish Navada,  Adani Foundation Team members Vineet Anchan, Sukesh Suvarna, Andeep Poojary and Padubidri residents were present on the occasion.
