Moodubelle: Restructuring of the Santekatte begins with leveling of the land

Moodubelle, 12 May 2011: The long standing aspirations and demand of the restructuring of the Santekatte at Moodubelle seems to have met as the Belle Grama Panchayat authorities started the ground leveling activities on Thursday, May 12, 2011. The Belle Grama Panchayat will be spending two lakhs of rupees for leveling the land which may take around ten days, after which ‘Guddhali Pooje’ for the restructuring work will be held.
According to sources, the entire restructuring project with commercial structures and other amenities will cost around forty lakhs of rupees out which ten lakhs will be given as subsidy by Karnataka State Fishermen’s Federation. The remaining thirty lakhs have to be raised from other sources.
When the ground leveling work started on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 8.30 am, Mrs. Jacintha Aranha, president of Belle Grama Panchayat, Mrs. Sujatha Suvarana, Vice President, Harish Shetty and A.G. D’Souza, members were present.

| Belle Panchayath is developing, with a bang! Be aware of the law and the rules. Be honest and sincere to the object of the work under taken and try to be good example. Do not give room for critics and thus win the confidence of the Public of this Panchayth so that vote getting will not be a problem ,what ever be the Party. I have demanded that half done roads and other projects must be completled to save from peoples ire. Ankudru vented dam must be useable for small vehicles.Kabyadi bridge work must go on. Then this 41 lakhs project will not be a bad one. The Panchayth members have good name. You must keep it up and help your party to gain from your work at the Panchayath level. See West Bengal-Mamatha has done onders with the people. She could be a role model in uplifting the people by rural development of rural areas like Bell. It is a beautiiful Village including Padubelle region. Dont neglect the area to the south west of the Belle river. Good luck. | |

| Users of santekatte should welcome this project; however, caution: a) Presence and photos of BGP members associated with Congress, b) non-issuaence of a public notice at the site and to local media (incl BMN)of contractor s details, detailed plans, cost allocations and project schedule, and the proposed tax tariff on vendors/vehicles/shop-keepers/shoppers in order to fund the upkeep of the place, c) that the ground-breaking begins just a month before arrival of monsoon, d) non-publication of location of reloacted temporary santekatte e)absence of the PWD officer/engineer/BDO are gitches that the BGP administration should address. Impart a non-partisan flavor and ownership, please, to this project | |

| A good work by Belle Grama Panchayat.Both BJP and Congres people should work togther for the betterment of Belle. We have a wonderful taluk president from Belle.When fighting elections you people can fight each other, but when development of area is considered both BJP and Congress should join hands to make our place a beutiful place to livein.Only levelling and building some structures will not be enough but to be kept clean also. All Belle residents should cooperate with Panchayat people in keeping the place clean. When we are working abroad we will follow all rules but whereas in our own native please our attitude is entirely different.
