Moodubelle, 13 February 2010: As a retaliation to blackening the face of the Sri Rama Sene founder, Pramod Muthalik by some unidentified miscreants at Bangalore on Thursday, 11th February 2010, the Rama Sene has given a call for Karnataka Bandh on Saturday, 13th February 2010.  The impact is being felt the most on the transport at the bus operators would not take the risk of their buses being attacked and damaged by the  Rama Sene activists who would find any excuse to disrupt the life of the people.

As far as Moodubelle and surrounding regions are concerned, the impact of the bandh is felt more on the transport system as the buses going from and through Moodubelle have stopped moving out and nearly eight of them are seen parked near the petrol pump in Moodubelle. According to a report only one bus arrived in Moodubelle early in the morning. Thereafter no buses were seen moving on the road. This has caused  a lot of inconvenience to the people in general and school and college students in particular. In view of this inconvenience the school and college  authorities have declared holiday today, thus forcing the educational institutions to have three consecutive holidays, yesterday being the Mahashivaratri and tomorrow being Sunday.

Pramod Muthalik who was getting ready for a TV debate on Valentine’s Day  when the incident of blackening his face by unknown miscreants took place. It has been a well-known fact that  Muthalik and his Rama Sene have been threatening to disrupt the  celebration of  Valentine’s Day every year. Last year thee Rama Sene activists had assaulted a group of young girls in a pub in Mangalore for wearing western clothes and drinking beer with friends.  Last year Muthalik and the Rama Sene activitsts has threatened to  marry off couples who were seen together in public places on 14th February Valentine’s Day.

This time Pramod Muthalik had the ignominy of being attacked by those who would not like his and his Sene’s antics of disrupting  Valentine’s  Day  celebrations. Muthalik has cried hoarse that he needs justice to be done by punishing those who had blackened his face. However, he and his Sene workers conveniently forget that law is common for all and the rule of law should apply to all. Hence, those Sene activists who had attacked the hapless girls in the Mangalore pub should be given exemplary punishment so that such unwarranted incidents including the one that had tarnished the face and image of Pramod Muthalik would not take place in the future.
