Udupi: Feast of St Antony’s Relic held with solemnity at Pakala Shrine

Udupi, 17 Feb 2018: The feast of relic of St Antony was held with solemnity at St Antony’s Shrine, Pakala, near Manjarapalke, here, on February 15 morning. The Shrine has been governed by St Joseph’s parish, Belman, in Karkala taluk.
The devotees of different faith, caste and creed lighted candles in front of the statue of St Antony to honor the miracle saint for the abundant of blessings and to thank for the graces that they have received.
Fr Alban Rodrigues, professor of St Joseph Seminary, Mangaluru concelebrated the festal Mass along with Udupi diocesan vicar general Monsignor Baptsit Menezes, Shirva deanery vicar Fr Stany Tauro, Belman parish priest Fr Edwin D’Souza and assistant parish priest Fr Roy Lobo.
The donors and sponsors were honored with blessed candles.
Monsignor Baptist launched documentary in Kannada on the origins of Shrine dedicated to miracle St Antony at Pakala and its spiritual growth that was produced by Vinod Gangolli.
The fellowship meal was shared by the devotees on the occasion.
The parish council vice president Alwyn Agera, secretary Faustine D’Souza, Shrine vice president Gregory B Menezes, secretary Gretta D’Souza and others were present.
Fr Edwin thanked the gathering for being part of celebration.
