Mangaluru: 60 Units of blood collected at Red Drop Cascia-2K18 organized by ICYM

Mangaluru, 22 Jan 2018: The Indian Catholic Youth Moment (ICYM) unit of St Rita’s parish, Cascia, here, organized a blood camp, themed Red Drop Cascia – 2K18, in association with Father Muller Blood Bank, at parish hall, here, on Sunday, January 21 from 9.15am to 1.30pm. It was held to mark 68th Indian Republic Day. The youth took inspiration from the quote: Your tear drops cannot save a life, but your blood drops can.
Cascia parish preist Fr Herald Mascarenhas presided the brief stage programme.
Mangaluru diocesan ICYM central council director and Ajekar parish priest Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza was the chief guest present.
Cascia parish resident priest and diocesan YCS director Fr Rupesh Madtha, diocesan ICYM central council general secretary Joel Immanuel Concesso, Cascia parish council president Jossy Theodore, Cascia High School alma mater president Subash and Father Muller Medical College Hospital Dr Liza D’Souza were present at the dais.
Cascia parish ICYM unit president Vishma D’Cunha welcomed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza stressed on the importance of blood donation and other socially relevant causes.
Fr Herald Mascarenhes felicitated Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza and Subhash with a memento as a token of love and gratitude. Vishma D’Cunha thanked all the guests and to all those who helped in putting up this event successfully and compered the formal programme.
The Event was a highly successful with over 60 units of blood was collected at the camp and the rest were invited directly to the hospital to donate due to lack of time. The entire event was flawlessly organized by the members of ICYM Cascia Unit as well by the staff of Father Muller Blood Bank who were able to collect maximum units which would in turn save lives.
