Pramod Madhwaraj flags off Hore Kanike procession for newly built Stella Maris Church, Kalmady

Udupi, 04 Jan 2018: The offering of Huge Hore Kanike procession for the preparation of the newly built Stella Marish Church, Kalmady near Malpe was held on Wednesday, 3rd January, 2018. The inauguration of newly built Kalmady church will be held on Saturday, 6th January, 2018.
The offerings Hore Kanike procession was symbolically inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, District in-charge Minister and Minister for state for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment. Jerry Vincent Dias, MD of Mandvi Estate and Builders, Hormis Noronha President of Standing Committee, Udupi CMC., Narayana Kundar local councilor, Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza, Parish Priest of Kalmady Church, Rev Fr. Reginald Pinto, Director of SAMPADA, Diocese of Udupi, Rev Fr. Valerian D’Silva Capuchin, Rev Fr. Stephen, Sanjay Andrade and Shobha Mendonca, Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council and others were present during the flag off ceremony at Malpe, near Ayyappa Swami Bhajana Mandir, Malpe.
The procession was accompanied by various tableaux, Music, Several Brass Band teams, Huli Vesha, Chande and other folk troupes. The parishioners’ with various traditional dresses and Arab traditional dress with camels reflected all religious people from Malpe to Kalmady on the way gathered.
Pramod Madhwaraj and Jerry Vincent Dais spoke prior to the flag off the procession at Malpe. Sanjay Andrade welcomed the gatherings and Shobha Mendonca proposed vote of thanks. Lesli Aroza of Thottam compered the programme.
The huge offerings from the parishioners, other parishioners, Devotees from Kerala, local other communities and well wishers were participated during the Hore Kanike. Rev Fr. Alban D’Souza received the huge offerings at Kalmady church.
The Inauguration and Blessing of the newly built boat shaped Stella Maris Church to be inaugurated on Saturday, 6th January, 2018 which will be done by Bishop of Udupi diocese with Bishop of Mangalore diocese, Bishop of Shivmugga and Bishop of Gulbarga.
Felicitation program will be held after the Eucharistic celebration which attended by elected representatives and other dignitaries followed by lunch. More than 10,000 devotees are expected to take part in the inauguration of the newly built church.
