Dr. Vincent Alva spoke on the occasion and said that the education imparted by the teachers is much more valuable than any money can buy in this world. The Annual Day he compared to a church feast celebrated every year. Its the time of joy and happiness. He further said currently there is a wrong perception regarding the religion. The common thinking is Religion means going to churches and temples to pray and perform rituals. He said, it is not, the religion means its a duty to help others in problems, respect and take care of parents and old people in the houses, help the neighbours, spending valuable time and having good relationship with neighbours. Finally, he compared the Religion to help the poor and underprivileged and nothing else. We need Religion to learn values, we need to visit our churches and temples only to pray and get self satisfaction and soul cleansing.
Speaking on the occasion Rev. Fr. Ferdinand said that it is not easy to organize the Kannada Medium Schools currently. The students are becoming less and less but despite that Kannada Medium school of St. John’s is exceptional. It has full attendance and we have very good teaching and non-teaching staff who impart good education to our students from early age of education. Students, who studies in our Kannada medium Schools have reached their milestones and settled, well educated all over the globe. It is nothing but blessing of St. John the Evangelist, patron of our educational institutions. He also thanked for all the three institutions, Primary, High school and Old Students association for highlighting their various activities and achievements and congratulated to them.
