Mangaluru: Childrens Day celebrated at Permannur Church

Mangaluru, 14 Nov 2017: St Sebastian Church, in its centenary Jubilee program on 12th November 2017 organized “Bhurganso Dabajo” -‘Childrens Day’. Indian Catholic Youth Moment (ICYM) Permannur took the lead in organizing this day long program starting with Eucharistic Celebration at 9:00 in the Specially Prayed for all the Children of parish. Rev Fr Robert D’Souza presided over the holy Eucharistic.

 

After the thanksgiving Eucharist celebration, there were variety games for the Children and it witnessed a cheerful participation by all the students.

 

In the afternoon a special programme for kids, ‘Permannur Kuvar and Permmannur Kuvarn’ (Permannur Prince and Permannur Princess) was held. There were 23 angelic kids participated in the competition. Mrs Juliet Rodrigues, Bejai,  Mr Lancy Rodrigues, Ammembal and Ms Laila Jyothy D’Souza, Mudipu were the Judges of the Day. Rev Fr Stany Pinto was the Anchor for the Program and Mrs Sharel Tellis organized the program. Master Aaron Jovil Veigas crowned as Permmannur Kuvar and Rishona Maria D’Souza crowned as Permmannur Kuvarn.

 

 

At 6:00 pm the Stage programme untied its curtain for Childrens Cultural Fest. On the dais Very Rev. Fr J. B. Saldanha Parish Priest, Kumari Sweedal D’Souza, representing the children as president of the programme, Rev Fr Robert D’Souza – Principal Loudres Central School Bejai, Mrs Linet Castelino Police officer Nithydar Parish were the chief guests. Fr Felix Noronha Chaplain Nirmala Convent, Fr Stany Pinto Asst Director of ICYM And Fr Lizel D’Souza Asst PP, Rev Sr Carmine Misquith BS Superior Bethel Convent, Rev Sr Benny Barretto Superior Aloysius Convent, Deacon Flavian Lobo, Mr Melwyn C. D’Souza Vice-president and Mr Ronald Fernandes Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr Demetrius D’Souza and Mr Joslin D’Souza Centenary Jubilee Committee, Sr Severine Fernandes ICYM animator, Dycil Fernandes and Denzeeta Veigas – President and Secretary of ICYM and nine student representatives were present.

 

Mrs Linet Castelino called the children to be more respectable to parents and more careful about present media and society. Rev Fr Robert D’Souza appreciated the Parish priest and team for thinking about children and guiding them in a better way. He also said that all parents have to give their time for children. Kumari Sweedal D’Souza in her presidential speech thanked for the opportunity. Rev Dr J. B. Saldanha thanked I.C.Y.M for their efforts and encouraged the gathering to be more valuable in the society.

 

It’s inauguration was special attractive by releasing the balloon in the air. Winners of the games were honoured with prizes. The ‘Permannur Kuvar and Permmannur Kuvarn’ were crowned and participants received the certificates. Rev Dr J. B. Saldanha unveiled the Parish Phone Directory during this event.  Childrens of the parish added the colour to the program by variety cultural program. Mr Dycil Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Ms Denzeeta Veigas thanked all. Ashvia, Glenna, Sweedal and Nishmitha beautifully compared the program. This program witnessed by thousands of parishioners.
