Puttur: St Philomena College students go on industrial visit to CAMPCO

Puttur, 26 Oct 2017: St Philomena College, the department of PG studies in Economics, here, organized an Industrial Visit on October 21.
The students of department visited the CAMPCO chocolate factory of Puttur. The junior welfare officer of the HR department Radhesh explained the working of the factory. He said, ‘The Campco is one of the India’s most modern chocolate manufacturing co-operatives. It has diverse products. This factory aims at helping the farmers by procuring more and more areca and cocoa, then utilizing them in manufacturing chocolates.’ He also explained the incorporation, background, objectives and functions of various departments.
The junior operator Shivaprasad Kamath demonstrated the technological devices used in processing and manufacturing of chocolates.
This programme was organized by the department to acquire practical knowledge about the working of an industrial unit. The faculty members of the department Mahitha Kumari M and Sandhya H coordinated the programme.
