Udupi: Marriage Enrichment Programme emphasizes family values at Pangla parish

Udupi, 27 Oct 2017: Family Commission of St John the Evangelists parish, Pangla – Shankerpura, near here, organized Marriage Enrichment programme, for married couples at parish hall, on Sunday, October 22.
Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, the parish priest of Pangla – Shankerpura parish and elderly couple of the parish Benedict and Carmine Martis inaugurated the programme, here, on Sunday morning.
In his presidential address, Fr Ferdinand congratulated the participants for having realized the importance of family life and making it a point to attend the programme. ‘There is no church without good families, family shapes the entire personality of its members, therefore, one need to strive hard to make his/her family a place of love and solidarity,’ he said.
Resource person Fr Chethan Lobo Cap, spiritual director of Udupi diocesan Family Commission gave tips how to enrich the marital bond and make families truly united.
Another resource person Leslie Aroza, director of diocesan Family Commission spoke on how to improve relationship between parents and children.
Fr Royson Fernandes, the assistant parish priest of Pangla parish, Fr Vincent Coelho, principal of St John’s PU College, Shankerpura, Mark Vaz, vice president of parish council, Clara Mendonca, secretary, Simmy D’Souza, coordinator were present on the dais.
Alice Rodrigues compered the programme. Emilia D’Souza, member of Family Commission, welcomed the gathering. Agnes D’Sa, coordinator of FCmily commission proposed vote of thanks.
Two-hundred-twenty parishioners were present through the programme.
