Udupi: Newly-renovated CSI August Maenner Church, Kutyar inaugurated

Udupi, 08 Jun 2017: CSI August Maenner Memorial Church in Kutyar, near Shirva, here has history over 141 years that has become significant worship center fostering community bond. At the present times of degeneration of faith, mere building of churches will not serve the purpose instead daily prayers to be held at the church to sustain the faith of community, said CSI Karnataka southern diocese bishop Mohan Manoraj.
Bishop Mohan was speaking after inaugurating newly-renovated CSI August Maenner church and belfry at Kutyar, near Shirva, here on Sunday, June 4.
Kaup MLA Vinayakumar Sorake was the chief guest, said that one who loves fellowmen is dear to God. The newly-renovated church is aesthetic beckons the faithful to pray.
Karnataka legislative council chief whip Ivan D’Souza said that one should understand the essence of one religion and respect people of other faiths.
Shirva parish priest Fr Stany Tauro, Shirva – Jamia masjid Moulana Sirajuddin Zaini, Christian Development director Prashant Jattanna, clergy Devaraj Bangera, Kishore Kumar, Steven Sarvottama, I L Soans, A C V Kunder, Wesley Palanna, ZP member Wilson Rodrigues, TP member Geeta Wagle and others were present.
Martha Anchan welcomed the gathering. Sasikala Anchan delivered the preliminary address. Suchit Kotian compered the programme. Dillon C Das proposed vote of thanks.
