Udupi: Adani-UPCL concreted road @ Rs 13.20 lac inaugurated at Mudarangady

Udupi, 09 Jun 2017: The Adani UPCL plant, which is operating at Yellur village, near here, on Thursday, June 8, inaugurated a road concreted under its CSR activities at Santoor village. 275 Metres length of Vailankanni Road, which was concreted at a total cost of Rs 13.20 lac was inaugurated by Kishore Alva, joint president of Adani UPCL and David D’Souza, president of Mudarangady gram panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishore Alva informed that Adani UPCL had announced a CSR grant of Rs 4.65 crore for rural infrastructure development works to Mudarangady gram panchayat for a period of 3 years and every year UPCL is spending nearly Rs. 1.50 crore for the development works. During the year 2016-17, UPCL has executed development works worth Rs 75 lac and with the today’s inauguration of Vailankanni Road and another 2 roads in coming days Adani UPCL will be spending nearly Rs 1.10 crore for the infrastructure development in Mudarangady gram panchayat.
In coming days, as a part of social forestry, Adani UPCL will be planting saplings in the land identified by the gram panchayats and the plantation shall be maintained by UPCL. This would be in addition to the fruit bearing saplings which would be distributed to nearly 7000 school students, Kishore added.
Thanking Adani UPCL, David D’Souza informed that the villagers were demanding for the development of this road and the same has been executed by Adani UPCL based on the action plan provided by the panchayat against the declared CSR grant of Rs 4.77 crore. He expressed happiness that all the development works of CSR is being executed by Adani UPCL in a systematic manner.
During the occasion of road inauguration Mudarangady gpama Panchayat vice president Jayanti Poojarthy, panchayat members Gabriel Mathias and Vasanti Devadiga, PDO Anilkumar, Adani UPCL’s assistant general manager Girish Navada, senior manager Ravi Jere, Adani Foundation members Vineet Anchan, Anudeep Poojary and Sukesh Suvarna were present.
