Miscreants vandalize statue of St Antony at Shirva Church

Udupi, 11 Dec 2016: The statue of St Antony was vandalized by miscreants at Our Lady of Good Health church, Shirva, here on Sunday, December 11 afternoon.

 

A few parishioners noticed the vandalized statue on Sunday at about 3.30pm and informed Shirva parish priest Fr Stany Tauro. The incident was reported to Shirva police who arrived at the spot with sniffer-dog to get the clues of culprits.

 

 

Shirva parish council vice president Wilson D’Souza, assistant parish priest fr Canute Noronha and large numbers of parishioners were gathered at the spot.

 

Shirva sub-inspector B Laxman and circle inspector Halamurty Rao are carrying out further investigations in this regard.
