Udupi: Vishwasadamane, Shankerpura reunites destitute youngster from UP with family

Udupi, 17 Jul 2016: Vishwasadamane orphanage, Shankerpura, near here reunited a destitute youngster from Uttar Pradesh (UP) with his family on Saturday July 16.

 

The shabbily dressed stinking youngster known locally as Deva who has take refuge under a bushel located nearby a garbage bin at K G Road, Santekatte, Brahmavar, near here on NH 66 was picked up on February 9, 2016 by Pastor John D’Souza, chief functionary of Vishwasadamane, along with his assistants.

 

 

He was given a proper bath and a haircut by the assistants at Vishwasadamane and dressed him with brand new clothes.  He was offered medical treatment for his mental ailment and to their surprise he recovered well a few weeks and began to help them in gardening and masonry.  Meanwhile, one day he expressed his desire to reunite with his family and shared his home address.  The staff wrote letter to the address that he gave, but all those letters returned undelivered 4 times.  However, the letter that they wrote and posted on July 5 reached them on July 13.  Deva’s brother contacted Vishwasadamane and informed them that he would come to take Deva at the earliest.  Accordingly, Deva’s brother accompanied by a relative arrived at Vishwasadamane on Saturday July 16.  Both thanked Vishwasadamane for giving Deva a new lease of life and taken him to reunite with their family in UP.

 

Deva’s brother Jitender said that Deva’s real name is Bishambar.  Their father Hariram has 4 children.  Bishambar was the eldest son who had studied up till Class V and was diagnosed to be suffering from mental ailment. He was treated by psychiatrist and was advised to stop medial treatment later. He was married and his wife was 4 months pregnant when Bishambar disappeared on one fine day.  A missing complaint was lodged with Mumbai police and his missing info was flashed in TV news, but he was not traced.  However, they were hopeful that Bishambar would be traced someday and at last found his brother at Vishwasadamane, said Jitender.
