Karkal: National Voters Day observed by Belman polling centre

Karkal, 26 Jan 2016: India is the largest democratic nation in the world, while 5 votes casts by one Indian beginning from elections at local governance to parliamentary elections serve as the solid pillar in a democratic set up. Meanwhile, the stronger nation can only emerge when the citizens compulsorily vote the peoples representatives who are genuinely patriotic, honest and uncorrupt, said senior teacher B Pundalika Marate.
Pundalika was speaking during National Voters Day celebrations of Indian Electioneering Commission’s voters’ booth number 125 of Belman gram panchayat held at St Joseph’s School, Belman, near here on Monday January 25.
The School head teacher Sr Lucy Pereira providided the info on voters awareness by handing over voters ID.
The voters booth officer Sudhakar, School head teachers Juliana Moras, Vincent Pinto, Lilly D’Souza, Sr Usha Stella, Lavina Pinto, Divya, Jyoti Devadiga and Harshendra Jain were present at the dais.
The voters IDs were handed over to the newly-enrolled voters on the occasion. Sr Lucy Pereira administered the oath to the voters.
The gram panchayat member Sanjeev compered the programme. The students and voters of wards partaken in the programme.
