Bellevision Muscat organizes fun-filled annual picnic with families

Muscat, 15 Dec 2015: Bellevision Muscat organized annual family picnic at Al-Hoor farmhouse, Seeb, near here on December 4.   Around 60 people including children hailing from Belle and nearby parishes in Udupi diocese gathered at picnic spot on December 4 at 9.00am.

 

The day began with prayer led by Lawrence Naronha, president of Bellevision Muscat. The traditional Mangalorean breakfast of Mutlin chutney prepared by Lobo and family was served. The comperer for the day was Edward Mendonca. Three teams were formed to play fun games, beginning with a catchy name for the team and group leaders. There were games such as tongue-twisters and hitting-the-Pepsi-cans-with-a-ball which had points below.

 

Lawrence Alva led the auction for a wall clock. It was won by Prashanth Rosario. After which hot drinks, soft drinks and barbecued chicken and sausages with salad were served. Soon after, a bid for Casio wristwatches was again held and it was won by Sunil Cardoza and Valerian Mathias. Veera D’Souza won a prize for being able to tell the highest male names.

 

 

The attraction of the day was 3 swimming pools. Children and adults thoroughly enjoyed swimming till lunch break. After swimming session, prayer before meals was led by Reshma Rodrigues. Delicious Mangalorean-style food was served, such as pork Vindaloo, chicken sukka, dal rice, chana sukka, bread, pickle and kheer was prepared by Celestine Lobo, Philomena Mendonca and Preeth.

 

Music and sound was provided by DJ Roshwin Lobo. After the sumptuous lunch, Lawrence Alva’s regular and famous pick-pack-boom game was played. Thereafter, Tambola was played. Anil had a game with Oreo biscuits for children. Lawrence Noronha entertained with jokes and melodious Konkani hit songs.

 

The organizers announced to bring more parishioners from all the neighboring parishes to Bellevision Muscat. Winners were announced and gifts were distributed. The gifts were sponsored by Arun, Anil and Edward Mendonca. A photo session was followed for all the members of BellevVision. Fun-and-frolic day was concluded with vote of thanks by Loyal Aranha.
