Tulu Parba a big hit at Qatar

Doha, 01 February 2011: The much awaited "Parbada Darbaar" a tulu festival hosted by Tulu Koota Qatar turned out to be a huge success on 28th Jan 2011. The event which was held at Indian club was officially inaugurated with lighting of the Lamp by Presidents of affiliated Karnataka organizations and senior Tulu Koota members.

 

Mrs. Archana Navaneeth Shetty welcomed the gathering and stressed on the need for encouraging the creative instincts in our children. Mr. Ramachandra Shetty, the President of Koota in his address to the gathering, appreciated the support extended by every community member for making this event a grand success. Mr. Shetty also assured that Koota would continue its endeavours to entertain the diverse community and would continue its charitable contributions to the community irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

 

The event began with an entertainment program with the presentation of Skit, Mad Ads and Dance competition compered by Ms. Prathana Shetty.  A musical show was then presented by the renowned troupe "Thunder Kids" led by Mr. Yellor Shrinivas Rao.

 

The second session of the event was conducted by Mr. Divakar Poojary who welcomed the guests to the dais. Mr. Nelanshu Dey, President of ICBF, was the Chief Guest of the event, Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, Managing Director of Advanced Technical Services, Mr. Abdulla Monu, President of South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association were the guests of honor. The Chief Guest Mr. Dey while addressing the gathering appreciated the role played by Koota with their contribution to the Indian Community and ICBF towards its charitable works. Mr. Dey thanked the Koota officials for organizing such a wonderful festival and providing an opportunity for the community members to display their talents and savor the taste of mouth watering Indian and regional cuisines. Mr. M. Ravi Shetty, the key supporter of the Koota appreciated all the front line members of the Koota for organizing such a wonderful and remarkable event.

 

 

Mrs. Milan Arun, Head of Affiliations and Consular Services Mr. Arun Kumar, President of Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) Mr. Saquib Raza Khan, President of Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA) Mr. Mr. Richard D’ Souza, President of Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Mr. Harry Lobo, President of Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA) Mr. Prakash Chandra Ajila, past president of TKQ, Mr. Rehman Saab, vice president of KMCA, Mr. Arvind Patil and Mr. Prabhakar, Past Presidents of KSQ, several other prominent members from Karnataka Expatriate Community were among those who attended the function.

 

Prizes to the winners of various competitions were then distributed by the Chief Guests and the Guests of honour present. The winners of these competition are:

 

Cine Dance Below 16:

 

1st Prize - Masakkali Girls – TKQ. The Team members of Masakkali girls were: Dhiya, Simron, Rachana, Daksha, Samiksha and Shristi. Choreography by Chaitali Uday Shetty.

2nd Prize: Matakkali Girls by TKQ. Team members were: Dviti, Saanvi, Sanjana, Shikha and Twisha. Choreography by Chaitali Uday Shetty.

3rd Prize: Disco Dancers by TKQ. Team members were: Ahan Hegde, Sanjeeth Shetty, Sahil Shetty, Sarvad Shetty, Shrishanth Shetty and Prachet Ajila. Choreography Akshaya Shetty.

Consolation Prize: Chori Chori by MCC. Team members were: Elreena Pinto, Richele Andrade, Joylin D Mello, Jessica D Souza Nandine D Souza and Anuska Fernandis. Choreography by Shewtha Shetty.

 

Cine Ads: Above 16:

 

1st Prize to TKQ.  Team members were: Akshaya Shetty, Sharmila Hegde, Sandhya Rai, Chitali Shetty, Disha Shetty and Akshatha Hegde. Choreography by Sharmila Hegde.

2nd Prize to KSQ: Team members were: Hari Haran, and Syed Nizar. Choreography by Mrs. Milan Arun.

3rd Prize to TKQ. Team members were: Kishore Kumar Bajaj, Mahesh Bolar, S. Salian, Viya Kumar Rai, and Kishan Rai.  Choreography by Kishor Kumar Bajaj and Mahesh Bolar.

Consolation Prize to MCC. Team members were: Lona Pinto, Sony Rodrigues, Lavina D Souza, and Glylon Rodrigues. Choreography by Riana Pinto.

 

MAD Ads:

 

1st Prize to TKQ. Team members were: Roopesh Shetty, Uday Shetty, Chaitali Shetty, Prathana Shetty, Vijaya Rai and Dhananjay Shetty. Directed by Archana Shetty.

2nd Prize: to KSQ: Team members were: V. Mannangi, Nagesh Rao, Ajay Ganesh, Noor Ahmed, Shashi Kiran P, Deepak Shetty and Arun Kumar. Directed by : Milan Arun.

3rd Prize: to TKQ: Team members: Shekar Shetty, Mohan J. Purandar, Manas Shetty, Megna Manas and N. Padmashree Shetty. Directed by Padma Roshan Shetty.

 

Skit:

 

1st Prize to TKQ: Team members were: Vijay Kumar Raj, Subramanya S. Shiva Kumar Rai, Harish Rai, Ragavendra Salian and Deekshit. Directed by Vijay Kumar Rai Puttur.

 

The judges for Skit & MAD ADS were Mr. Syed Abdul Hye, senior citizen and the founder member of the Koota, Mrs. Riana Pinto of MCC, and Mr. Rajshekar Bappal, Past General Secretary of the Koota. The Judges for Cine Dance competition were Ms. Ambika Kumar and Ms. Nitya Gopikrishnan.

 

The most attractive part of the event was the food stalls with a variety of mouth watering dishes from tulu nadu and other parts of India that included Goli Baje, Dhai Vada, Neeruli baje, Daal Vada, Podi, Onion Pakoda, Chicken Dhum Biryani, Bread Omlet, Charmuri, Pakoda, Puri Baaji, Magic Corn, Spring Roll, Paalak Vada, Samosa, Batata Vada, Rotti & Gasi, Pav Baaji, Dosa, Goli Baje, Pathrode & Chicken Kabab and many other food items were up for a grab. The delectable dishes were prepared and displayed by Sudha Shetty, Mrs.Vijaya Shetty, Shaheed, Abdulla Mono, Anil, Shekar, Veena Rao and team, Divakar Poojary, Mansura Gutthu, Mr. Harish Shetty, Dr. Sanjay, Mr. Seetharam, Mr. Ashmath Ali, Mr. Naseer and Mr. Hameed.

 

The vice present of Tulu Koota Qatar Mr. Ashmath Ali proposed vote of thanks.
