Kanajar Parishioners and dear ones bid a tearful farewell to Sr. Rosebell

Kanajar, 30 December 2010: The parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church Kanajar and dear ones bid a tearful farewell to Sr. Rosebell in the evening of Wednesday 29th December 2010. Funeral cortege was blessed by Fr. Alwyn at 3.30 pm at the Lourdes convent. The solemn funeral mass which began at 3.45 pm was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vijay Bhat along with Rev Fr. Pascal Menezes, Rev. Fr. Sunil Menezes, Rev. Fr. Frederick Monteiro, Rev Fr. Ronald Tellis and Rev. Fr. Alwyn. Rev. Fr. Pascal Menezes in his homily recounted the contribution of Sr. Rosebell saying she served her community well and spoke about her love for Kanajar and how she had wished her mortal remains to be buried in Kanajar.

 

 

Sr. Cordelia delivered the eulogy and Sr. Monica gave thanks to everyone on behalf of Lourdes convent Kanajar. Rev.Sr. Rosebel B.S (Gratia Saverina D’Souza), Aged 84 Years, Lourdes Convent, Kanajar was passed away on 27th December 2010. She was in her 66th year of her Religious Profession.

 

Sr. Rosebelle BS, hails from Urwa, daughter of the late Nicholas John D’Souza and the late Martha D’Souza. She joined the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore on 30.05.1942. She served in the places like Permannur, Kulshekar, Bajpe, Kinnigoly, Balkunje, Puttur, Bendur, Moodubelle, Taccode, Kadaba, Kinnikambla, Ullal and Kanajar.
