Media Release
Udupi, 03 Jun 2015: In a simple but meaningful prayer service which took place in the Udupi Bishop’s Chapel, Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo administered the oath to 2 lay leaders, as they took charge of 2 of the 18 Commissions of the diocese.
Elroy Kiran Crasto, who was the president of Catholic Sabha (Udupi Pradesh), took charge as the director of Labor Commission and Leslie Aroza who was serving as the assistant director of the Family Commission took charge as the full-time director of the same.
With this the number of lay leaders heading the diocesan Commissions goes up to 4. The other 2 Commissions led by laity are, the Women Commission for Justice and Peace.
Indeed it’s a matter of joy for the lay faithful of Udupi diocese as they join hands with the diocesan clergy in the implementation of the Pastoral Plan 2025. One can confidently say that the laity of Udupi diocese has come of age!
The Bishop invoked God’s choicest blessing on the new directors and wished them well in their ministry.
