Shirva, 28 December 2010: Delivering the keynote  address at a multiple programme such as ‘Nadunane Sahitya’, Matruvandana, Guruvandana, smajasevavandana and Pratibhavandana at Shirva Hosangadi Shri Sarvottama Vedike on Sunday, 26th December 2010, B.C. Rao Shivapura said that the world is a vast mental hospital and every person has madness of one kind or the other. Happiness, health and life are the gifts of God. People with healthy mind try to do something good to the society. When people carry on socially relevant work they do not require a doctor as creative work improves one’s health. Continuing further he said that children should be made aware of our tradition and culture and they shoulbe imbibed with finer values of life. Equitable distribution of resources is a dharma.

 

 

Those people who had rendered their service and excelled themselves in different fields were  felicitated during this programme. In the category of Guruvandana, elder freedom fighter and retired Hindi Pandit  Bantakal K.L. Sharma, retired teachers, Shanta V. Shetty, Kawa Acharya, Magdalene Fernandes, K.S. Shridhara Moorthy were honoured. In the Samajasevavandana, Sooda Sadananda Shenoy, M. Gopinath Kamath Anekere Karakala and Janardhana ‘Spandana’ Nejaru were felicitated. In the Pratibhavandana, rankholder-Pooja Kamath was honoured.  The Matrupoojana programme was conducted by K. Sundara Prabhu and Kamalaksha Shenoy Shirva. Jyothi Kamath, Shaila Nayak and Deepak Kamath honoured the elders. K.S. Shridhar Moorthy spoke on behalf of the honoured dignitaries.

 

K. Krishnanand Kamath welcomed the guests, Inna Deepak Kamath sand the national song-Vande Mataram. B. Pundalik Marathe compeered the programme. An exhibition of old household articles, coins, stamps, paintings, photographs, literature and papers was inaugurated by K.S. Shridhar Moorthy. A number of distinguished guests and dignitaries were present for the programme. K. Shivananda Kamath proposed the vote of thanks.
