Kanajar, 23 December 2010: On Thursday, 23rd of December 2010 Christmas was celebrated meaningfully at 3 places in Kanajar-Bailur, Ranganpalke and Palli. This program to spread the message of Christmas was arranged by Kanajar Parishioners.
At 3.45 PM the procession led by Santa Claus began from Kanajar Church to Bailur. The procession was followed by team of YCS and ICYM members clad in red which was accompanied by a float of the crib. Parishioners joined in the festive procession in their 2, 3 and 4 wheelers accompanied by the joyous music provided by Sunshine band Perampalli, which added beauty and flavor to the procession.
The congregation gathered at Bailur, Palli and Ranganaplake where the children accompanying the tableau danced to a tune of Christmas greeting and the parishioners sang carols.
At Bailur the program began at 4.00 PM, where a beautiful Christmas skit in Kannada was performed by the ICYM and YCS units of the parish. The little children with their dance added beauty to the skit. The dance of the Santa-Claus and his team was very joyful and gave the festive mood. Santa Claus with his festive moves enthralled the audience and the delighted parishioners and some locals also joined in the fun which was supported by fire crackers and the melodious sound of Sunshine band. Later Santa Claus together with his team and parishioners distributed the cake to all.
The parish priest Fr. Alwyn D’Cunha gave a short but meaningful Christmas message and invoked the blessings of Jesus Christ on all the gathered. The whole program was conducted in Kannada within approximately 35 minutes.
Then the procession moved to Palli and at 5.10 PM a similar program was held there. At 6.10 PM the third celebration was held at Ranganpalke. More than 1200 people of different communities took part in these Christmas Celebrations.
