Hyssna Miss Daijiworld : Top Three Spots Announced

Mangalore, 22 December 2010: The long wait and excitement the Hyssna Miss Daijiworld contest had given rise to, is almost coming to an end. Last date for the public voting for the contest happened to be December 20, 2010, and the three most photogenic faces have since been chosen jointly by the general public as well as the panel of judges, here in Mangalore. ‘Hyssna Miss Daijiworld Contest – 2010’ was organized by daijiworld.com to celebrate its tenth anniversary.



On December 15, 2010, top 10 photogenic faces had been chosen and placed online, out of the1,241 entries received for the contest from different corners of the globe, for public voting. The momentum of online voting reached dizzy heights as the voting inched towards closure time, and when the voting concluded at 11 pm on December 20, 2010, a total of 99,601 votes had been cast, a response that has not only been overwhelming, but also inspirational.


Incidentally, the decision of the panel of judges as well as of the counting of public voting went hand in hand, and therefore, there had not been any difficulty for the organizers to zeroing on the three toppers.


The contest gained wide publicity and reached frenzied proportions, after major social networking sites, blogs, and mobile users were bombarded with pleas to vote for the contestants.


Now the top three winners will be invited to be present at the Mumbai Cricket Association Club, Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai, on January 12, 2011, to be part of daijiworld’s grand decennial programme and receive the prizes.


All the three people now chosen have been guaranteed a spot in the finals, but the winner and the two runners-up will be d only on January 12, 2011.


The voting pattern for all the ten candidates will be made public during the programme and thereafter published online through the website.


The winner of the contest will be titled, ’Hyssna Miss Daijiworld - 2010’, and will take home a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the first runner-up will receive  Rs 25,000 in cash. The second runner-up will receive Rs 15,000 as cash reward.


Given here below is a brief on the top three contestants (It may be noted that the top three photogenic faces have been featured here on the basis of alphabetical order of their names, and not in the order of the slots secured by them).


Anjali Jayasheela Shetty - Mangalore 



19-year-old Anjali Jayasheela Shetty is the daughter of Anil and Jayasheela Shetty residing in Kadri, Mangalore. Anjali is currently pursuing her BBM degree course at SDM Law College, Mangalore. As a hobby, she anchors shows in local television channels and has donned the role of the master of ceremony in a number of programmes.



Monica Priyanka D’Souza - Mumbai


24-year-old Monica Priyaka D’Souza is the daughter of Peter and Pauline D’Souza of Taccode parish, Moodubidri. A holder of BA degree in psychology, she is fondly known among her friends and family circles, just as ’Priyanka’. Currently, she works for Hirnandani group, Mumbai. Reading, listening to music, and watching movies, are her hobbies.



Rashmi Gratia Rebello - Manipal


20-year-old Rashmi Gratia Rebello is the daughter of Ronald and Gladys Rebello, currently residing in Manipal. Rashmi is pursuing her final year MBBS course at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. Dancing has been her favourite hobby.


While organizers congratulates the top three finalists, it also conveys a special word of appreciation to all the other seven contestants who reached the finals, as also everyone who participated in ’Hyssna Miss Daijiworld-2010’ contest.


The support and response received from the daijiworld readers for the contest has been huge, and it has definitely encouraged and inspired us to organize more contests in the coming days.
