Udupi: More Research Required in Ayurveda – Dr. Hegde

Udupi, 04 November 2010: “More and more research is required in the Ayurvedic field of Indian medicine” said Dr. Virendra Hegde upon inaugurating Nisarga Ayurvedic, a research centre at Kadiyali, Udupi on Wednesday 03 November.

 

 

“Ayurveda has revealed the secrets for the survival of mankind starting from birth until death. Much before the invention of Alopathi and other medical fields, thousands of years ago Indians have invented Ayurveda. But later the other fields were given encouragement, hence those fields spread all over the world enormously. Ayurveda is the best medical field in the world and it needs more and more research, and then it can get more recognition” he said.

 

“Among the medicines other than Ayurvedic, which come into market, 20 percent only are manufactured for actually curing sickness and the rest 80 percent are manufactured for market purpose only. These give sickness first and then cure. Those who were using modern medicine have now realized the importance of Ayurveda and are begun to like Indian culture, food and natural medicine” said Dr. Hegde.

 

“If we promise ourselves that we will not pollute the environment that itself is a huge contribution. If we stop pollution then there is no need of medicine, and even if sickness comes it can be controlled”, he said.
