Every Language has Valuable Literature

 

Katapadi, 18 November 2010: "Every language has its own value literature. The poetry of any language if translated in the local language it will be possible for the common man to understand it" said Catherine Rodrigues, popular poet and drama artist. She was talking on the occasion of multi linguistic meet at Katapadi S.V.S. Pre University College, organized by Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy and Udupi Jilla Kambala Kala Sahithya Vedhike Katapadi.

 

 

When the literatures of Konkani and Byari languages are translated to Kannada, all who has interest in the literature will be able to understand them. The meet was on languages such as Konkani, Kannada, Tulu and Byari. In the meet the Konkani poets - Poornima Nayak Udupi, Maurice D’sa Shanthipura, Ennehole Sadananda Nayak Karkala, Kannada poets – Subrahmanya G. Kurya  Udupi, Shailaja Hegde Karkala, Kathyayini Kunjibettu, Tulu poets – Rohini Katapadi, Suresh Yermal, Rakesh Kunjoor, Byari poets – Husain Katipalla, Anwar Majoor, Husainar Kaup were present.

 

Emerging child artist Baby Thaswi Rai performed dance. On the occasion of the meet competitions on story, essay and poems were conducted for children. The winners were awarded with certificates and mementos. The program was compeered by Academy member B. Pundalika MarATE. Prakash Suvarna – President of Kambala Kala Sahithya Vedhike proposed vote of thanks.

 

 


Youths should be made aware of the law

 

Kaup, 18 November 2010: "Young generation should be made aware of law by the elders, to avoid them getting into crimes" said Narendra Kumar Gunaki, Udupi District Lawyer and President of Law Services Division. He was talking upon inaugurating of the Law awareness program, conducted on the occasion of children’s day at Kaup Vidhyanikethana Group of Education, organized by Udupi Lawyers Association.

 

 

"The law is the same to all people of every walk of life. But all people are not making use of it. When the youths are made aware of the law then crimes will be under control" Narendra Kumar said. Chief Senior Lawyer Savithri Bhat spoke and said "when we respect the law, crimes can be under control. But many people do not know to respect the law and hence they are not protected by law. The law is for our protection and we must not misuse it".

 

K. P. Acharya Correspondent of Kaup Vidhyaniketana Group Education who presided over the function said that the lawyers should come forward to make the students aware of the law in programs like this, so that the youth generation will have the awareness. T. Vijay Kumar Shetty – Vice President of Udupi Lawyer’s Association was the chief guest. Lawyer Vani V. Rao spoke about the crimes against women. Lawyer Gururaj Aythal spoke about the law on crimes by children.

 

Prof. V. K. Udyavar – Chief Officer of  Kaup Vidhyaniketana Group Education welcomed the guests and gathering. Vidhyadhara Puranik – Principal of Vidhyaniketana Public School proposed vote of thanks. Shanthi – Lecturer of Pre University College compeered the program.

 

 


Call for Celebration of Bakrid in a friendly manner

 

Kaup, 18 November 2010: "Muslim brethren should religiously celebrate Bakrid as per the teachings of Islam and should encourage the whole neighbourhood to be part of this celebration" requested U. Anwar Ali – Secretary of Jamaet Islami Hind Udupi District, in a press statement in Kaup.

 

"Muslim brethren must personally deliver the meat to their neighbouring relatives. No one should wander in streets for the collection of meat. All residential areas must be made aware of this before the occassion. The slaughtering should be done fully accordance to the religious terms and by this a friendly atmosphere is to be build up in the community and neighbourhood.

 

 

 

Painting Exhibition held by Artist Court Udupi

 

Katpadi, 18 November 2010: Painting Exibition is held at S.V.S. College Katpadi, organized jointly by Konkani Sahithya Academi and Udupi District Kambala Kalavedhike Katpadi. Dr. M. Mona Alva upon inauguration of this exhibition by painting the white board on Sunday said "painting media has the ability to blossom the minds of humans and it has ancient history".

 

 

During this inaugural function Narayana Kharvi Kundapura – President of Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy, S. H. Shivarudrappa – Academy Registrar, Raviraj Shetty – President of Rotary Katpadi, Dr. U. K. Shetty – Hon. President Kambala Kalavedhike, B. Pundaleeka Marate – Member of Konkani Sahithya Academi, Ramesh Salvankar, Prasanna Shetty – Secretary of Kambala Kalavedhike, Nagesh Kamath, Shankar Sherigar, Uday Kumar, Rajesh Acharya were present.

 

Ramesh Kidiyoor – President of Udupi Artist Court welcomed the guests and gathering. P. R. Bhat – Chief Secretary compeered the program. P. N. Achar – Artist proposed vote of thanks.

 

 


L.I.C. Premium Collection Centre at Shirva

 

Shirva, 18 November 2010: Premium collection centre of Life Insurance Corporation of India is inaugurated by Uma Rao – Senior Divisional Manager of L.I.C. Udupi Divisional Office. During this inaugural function Prof. Baskar Shetty – Principal of Shirva College, Dr. J. C. Miranda – Principal of St. Mary’s College Shirva, T. V. Pavaskar of L.I.C. India Kaup Branch and Vishwanath Kaup –L.I.C. Development Officer were present.

 

H. R. Shetty – L.I.C. Development Officer welcomed the guests and gathering. Norbert Machado – Senior L. I. C. Agent compeered the program. Umar Ismail proposed vote of thanks.

 

 

Hanuman and Chalis Patan at Kaup

 

Kaup, 18 November 2010: Hanuman and challis patan religious program was conducted at Kaup by Hanuman Shakthi Jagaran Samithi Kaup region. The program presided over by Deviprasad Shetty – President of Hanuman Shakthi Jagaran Samithi UdupiIn his speech he said "Nationwide at 800 regions Hanuman and chalis patan program is going on. For this program the support of grameena matha is essential". All this is going on for the religious progress, for the construction of Ram Mandir and for the development of our nation. The 67 acre of land belongs to Rama and this should be reserved for the Ram Mandir.
 
In this function Shyam Kudwa – Leader of Hanuman Shakthi Jagaran Samithi, Swarnalatha, Jagadeesh Acharya – Taluk Panchayath Member, Shantharam Prabhu – R.S.S. Leader, Karunakar Kaipunjalu, Tharanath Kotyan, Jagadeesh Bangera and Dinakar Shetty were present.
