20 injured as boulder falls on Matsyagandha Express

Karwar, 09 November 2010: Twenty passengers were injured when a boulder which rolled down from a hillock fell on a moving train at Jaddigadde village near Amadalli in Uttara Kannada district on Monday night.
The accident occurred around 7.30pm when the Mangalore-Kurla (2620) Matsyagandha Express train was on its way to Lokmanya Tilak terminus in Mumbai from Mangalore. The boulder damaged four coaches of the train.
Injured
The injured were identified as Shrichanda, Tejas Bhat, Suvarna Bhat, Ravi Bhat, Prashant R A, Vijayanta Shetty, Sudarshan Shetty, Sudesh, Ajeesha, Niranjan, Mahesh, George Sikwera, Sudarshan, Gracey, Prajesh, Manoj, Suneelkumar, Naveenkumar, Sanjana and Prema Kotyan. Suneelkumar and Sanjana, who are seriously injured, have been admitted to Sea Bird Patanjali hospital at Karwar.
